Keeping your medical care costs under control -the educated consumer

There have been many changes to insurance and the coverage provided patients over the past 20 or more years.  The Accountable Care Act, also known as ObamaCare helped those people who didn’t have medical care to acquire it.  However, in that process the costs of insurance to patients who already had insurance coverage dramatically increased.  In particular, we have seen a significant increase in patient obligation with higher deductable payments and co-pay costs.  Institutions typically get higher reimbursements for the same services provided by a private practice physician. They also often add an added cost known as the facility charge which falls on the patient.  If you have not met your deductable then that cost falls to you as well as the higher co-pay.  As a private practice ENT physician I strive first to provide the highest quality care possible, but recognize this can be done efficiently by only ordering tests when needed, and finding the most cost effective facilities to get your test from.  Your personal cost are almost always less.

As always, we are committed to being available to patients when needed and provide the highest quality care.  We also recognize the high cost of medicine and want to assist our patients in whatever way we can to keep costs down.

We look forward to helping you, and please don’t hesitate to inquire how we can save costs when possible.
